Safari - reinvented.
Africa as few experience it.
Individual safaris in southern Africa – planned by people who have not only travelled to Africa, but experienced it firsthand.
There are journeys where you view Africa from the window of a vehicle. And there are journeys where you unzip your rooftop tent in the morning and gaze directly out at the vast expanse of the landscape. InfiniteWild Journeys combine both.
You'll travel with a small group, driving your own 4x4 through the landscape, deciding together with your guide when to stop, stay longer, or follow the next animal track. You won't have to forgo the comforts of a well-organized trip: an experienced guide will accompany you, a private chef will take care of your meals, and a mix of carefully selected lodges and comfortable rooftop tents awaits you along the way.
The result is not a typical group tour. Nor is it a self-drive adventure where you have to take care of every detail yourself.
It's a journey that combines the freedom of your own 4x4 with the personalized service of a guided safari. Sometimes you're behind the wheel, following a gravel track through the vastness of Africa. Other times, your guide takes over, showing you tracks, landscapes, and animals you might have missed on your own. In the evenings, camp is set up, meals are cooked, and everyone eats together. On other days, a lodge awaits you, where you can simply arrive, take a deep breath, and let the day's experiences sink in. This variety is what makes the InfiniteWild Journey so special.
More freedom than on a traditional group tour. Closer to Africa than on a typical tour. And more personalized service than you would expect from a classic self-drive tour.
You'll travel with people who share the same passion for Africa. You won't just experience the country as a guest, but will truly be on the move for a while: on your own bike, right through the landscape, with time for spontaneous stops and with a guide by your side who knows Africa.
It's okay if it gets dusty, bumpy, and wild at times.
Because that's often where the real adventure begins.

What is an InfiniteWild Journey?
Dachzelt trifft Lodge

Who is the InfiniteWild Journey for?
An InfiniteWild Journey is for you if you don't just want to travel through Africa, but truly be on the move.
If you want to drive yourself, but still want an experienced guide by your side.
If you prefer small groups to large tour groups.
If you enjoy sleeping outdoors but don't want to miss out on select lodges and comfort.
If you're looking for adventure, but don't want to organize every single part of the trip yourself.
If you enjoy traveling with other people, but also value having enough space for yourself.
And if you are open to the fact that not every day will go exactly as you imagined it would.
Because a journey isn't just about the route. It's about the people you travel with. The animals you encounter. The stories that unfold along the way. And the moments that can't be planned.

Your next trip to Africa
Perhaps it's time for a different way of experiencing Africa.
Not from a distance. Not according to a rigid travel plan. And not entirely on one's own.
But together with a small group, in your own 4x4, with an experienced guide, under the starry sky in a rooftop tent and in between with the comfort of a selected lodge.
An InfiniteWild Journey is a trip for anyone seeking a little more freedom. A little more adventure. And above all: more Africa.

The travel itinerary
Sleeping under the stars
Day 1
Our journey begins in Windhoek in the morning. After a thorough briefing on the 4x4 vehicles, we set off immediately. Just a few minutes outside the city, we find ourselves immersed in nature. Our route takes us along mountain ranges, over passes, and past wildlife. Within the first few hours of the trip, there's a good chance of seeing antelopes, wildebeest, giraffes, and other animals. In the late afternoon, we reach our first accommodation. Just nine chalets, scattered across a dune, offer a stunning setting with breathtaking views. Here, you can literally sleep under the stars!
Sesriem, Namib Desert
Namib Dune Star Camp
Sossusvlei & Deadvlei
Day 2
We begin our day with the first rays of sunshine. After a hearty breakfast, we set off into the heart of the Namib Desert: Sossusvlei and Deadvlei. Millennia-old, preserved camel thorn trees nestled among red dunes offer a breathtaking sight. If you're feeling adventurous, you can climb one of the dunes. We begin our return journey just in time for sunset. Our accommodation for the night is an exclusive campsite with private bathrooms, located within the national park.
Sossusvlei, Namib Desert

Namib Dune Star Camp
Where the dunes meet the sea
Day 3
We leave the desert and head towards Swakopmund. The journey itself is a highlight, with mountain passes, canyons, and surreal landscapes. Once in Swakopmund, the combination of sea and dunes offers numerous activities. We observe marine life from kayaks or catamarans and experience the unique culture of this small town with its German influence.
Swakopmund
Swakopmund Sands (or similar)
The Matterhorn of Namibia
Day 4
The unique rock formations of this region are not only a breathtaking sight, but also home to true cultural treasures. We experience stunning sunsets on red granite cliffs, look out for wildlife, and marvel at the San rock paintings.
Spitzkoppe

Camping among the rocks
Desert elephants in the riverbed
Days 5-6
This region continues to showcase the breathtaking diversity of the Namib Desert. After the dunes and the lunar landscape, we now find ourselves amidst dry riverbeds and stony deserts. Along the way, we search for Namibia's rare desert elephants and visit a traditional local village.
Twyfelfontein
Twyfelfontein Adventure Camp
Etosha National Park
Days 7-8
Ready for the safari of a lifetime? Today we head to Etosha National Park! We arrive in the early afternoon, begin our first game drive, and you'll be behind the wheel. Elephants, zebras, giraffes, rhinos, lions, and countless other wild animals await discovery. In the evening, we set up our rooftop tents and enjoy a sundowner at the illuminated waterhole while elephants come to drink. We end the evening around a campfire. On the second day, we set off again early in the morning for another game drive towards the eastern end of Etosha.
Etosha National Park

Camping in the national park
A different kind of safari
Days 9-10
Directly adjacent to Etosha National Park lies the private Onguma Game Reserve. Visitor numbers are limited, making our safari experience even more intimate. We can now relax, because instead of driving ourselves, we'll experience our safari in a classic safari jeep. The private game reserve also offers some very special activities: a photo hide where we can encounter the animals at eye level at the waterhole, and a walking safari where we can track animals and experience the smaller wonders of nature.
Onguma Private Game Reserve

Camping under the roar of lions
On wild trails
Day 11
After a final morning safari in Onguma, we set off towards Windhoek, but make one last stop. After setting up camp, we experience a breathtaking sunset and usher in our final evening.
Okonjima Private Game Reserve

Camping with a view
On the trail of leopards
Day 12
The last day holds another absolute highlight in store for us: leopard tracking. With an experienced guide from the AfriCat Foundation, we'll search for one of these majestic animals. Nowhere else is the chance of seeing leopards higher. A safari couldn't end more beautifully!
After a final breakfast together, we set off for Windhoek, where our journey ends.
