Safari Weddings
Your vows. In the heart of the African wilderness.
A wedding that will last.

There are weddings that are beautiful.

And then there are weddings you'll never forget. Weddings that feel like the start of a shared adventure.

You exchange your vows in Africa, surrounded by vast open spaces and wilderness. The sun hangs low over the savanna, and elephants roam the distance. Afterwards, you sit with your loved ones enjoying a sundowner, listening to the sounds of the bush, and set off together the next morning on a game drive.

Or you could get married among vineyards in South Africa's Wineland, celebrate with your guests with good wine and the best food, and then continue your journey in the wilderness.

We combine your wedding with a safari that is as unique as you are.

safari-wedding-luxury-couple-love

We will take care of the part we do best: the trip to Africa and the safari part of your wedding.

We find a hand-picked lodge or the perfect safari camp, plan your route, organize the transfers and ensure that arrival, wedding and safari are meaningfully combined and seamlessly integrated.

For anything beyond that, we work with a fantastic event planner. If you wish, she can coordinate the entire wedding on-site: from the ceremony, photographer, and wedding cake to the reception, flowers, furniture, hair & makeup, and all the little details in between.

This way you don't have to try to put together a wedding on another continent yourself.

You bring the vision. We bring the right people together.

More than a wedding. A journey for life.

A safari wedding doesn't have to be just a wedding with a few animals in the background. It can be the centerpiece of an entire African trip.

Perhaps you're traveling as a couple and would like an intimate ceremony in a private safari lodge. Perhaps you're bringing your closest friends and family and spending several days together in the bush. Perhaps you'll get married first in the Winelands and then fly on for your safari.

Anything is possible. Because we don't think of your wedding in isolation, but as part of your journey.

How long would you like to stay in Africa? Would you like to go on safari before or after the wedding? Should your guests accompany you on the entire trip or only join you for the wedding? Would you like to combine several safari areas? Would you like to spend a few days relaxing on the beach after the wedding?

These questions will create your very own personal journey.

Safari meets wedding

A wedding in the middle of the African wilderness is completely different from a wedding in a classic venue.

The landscape isn't a backdrop, the surroundings aren't decorated to imitate Africa. You're simply right in the middle of it.

Perhaps you'll stand on a private terrace at sunrise, exchanging vows as the first rays of sunlight wash over the savanna. Perhaps the ceremony will take place in the afternoon, followed by a sundowner with your guests. Perhaps you'll dine under the stars in the evening, as the sounds of the bush begin to stir somewhere in the darkness.

Depending on the lodge and region, very different concepts are possible. From a small, private ceremony for two to an exclusive celebration with your closest friends and family.

We are not simply looking for any lodge that offers weddings.

We're looking for a place that suits you.

To your style. To the number of guests. To your preferences. To the time of year. And of course, to the safari you want to experience.

Your wedding. Our expertise.

The safari part of your wedding is being handled by InfiniteWild.

This means: We take care of the planning and organization of your safari trip and ensure that individual components come together to form a coherent experience.

These include, among others:

  • Choosing the right safari lodge or camp

  • individual safari route

  • Accommodation and meals

  • private or shared vehicles, depending on the concept

  • Game drives and other safari experiences

  • Domestic flights and bush flights, if necessary

  • Airport transfers

  • Transfers between the individual lodges

  • Transportation for your guests

  • Coordinating the safari with the wedding date

  • possible pre- and post-programs

  • Beach extensions or other travel components

Logistics are especially important for a wedding. You don't want to spend hours in a transfer vehicle on the morning of your wedding. Your guests shouldn't be confronted with conflicting information about airports, transfers, and check-in times. And of course, you don't want to discover after the wedding that the perfect safari lodge is only accessible with three extra flights.

That's why we plan the route from the very beginning around your wedding day.

And the wedding itself?

Our event planner can handle that upon request. To be honest, we are safari specialists, not a traditional wedding agency.

That's why we don't try to do everything ourselves. Instead, we work with an experienced event planner who takes care of exactly that part and organizes your wedding on-site. Depending on your wishes, this could include, for example:

ceremony

  • Location and setup

  • Wedding officiant

  • Seating

  • decoration

  • Flowers

  • musical accompani

Reception & Celebration

  • Reception

  • Catering

  • drinks

  • Tables and chairs

  • Table decoration

  • lighting

  • Music and Entertainment

Personal details

  • wedding cake

  • Stationery

  • Party favors

  • styling

  • Hair & Makeup

  • photographer

  • Videographer

And of course, individual requests can also be accommodated.

Perhaps you have a very specific style in mind. Perhaps you envision a minimalist and elegant wedding. Perhaps you dream of a large celebration with your families. Or maybe you simply want a small ceremony followed by a safari together.

You decide how much of a wedding you want. We'll make sure it works on site.

A wedding among vineyards

A safari wedding doesn't have to mean getting married in the bush. One of our favorite options is combining a wedding in the South African Winelands with a subsequent safari.

The regions around Stellenbosch, Franschhoek, and Paarl offer a wide selection of wineries and private estates geared towards weddings. Many combine vineyards, mountains, gardens, excellent food, and accommodation.

For example, you could spend a few days in the Winelands first.

Wine tastings. Long lunches. Time with your guests. Perhaps a welcome dinner the evening before.

Then comes the big day.

You get married among the vineyards, celebrate with your guests, and toast to your life together. And then the landscape changes. The vineyards remain. The bush begins.

A short domestic flight or private transfer will take you to a safari area where wedding days become safari days.

A morning game drive instead of brunch. Elephants instead of vineyards. A sundowner instead of a cocktail bar.

Two completely different worlds. One journey.

South Africa is particularly well suited for this combination because the Cape Winelands and various safari areas can be combined to create an individual trip.

Or directly into the bush

If you choose to have your wedding in the heart of the wilderness, the safari can, of course, be the centerpiece of the entire trip. Then it's not about switching between the wedding and the safari. The safari is the wedding.

You will stay in a hand-picked lodge or an exclusive safari camp, experience the wildlife together with your guests, and plan your ceremony right where the surroundings set the tone.

It can be very elegant. But it can just as easily be deliberately minimalist.

A small ceremony. A few guests. A beautiful location. Good food. A sundowner. And the next morning, the first game drive together as a married couple.

Especially for smaller wedding parties, private lodges or exclusive usage concepts can create a very personal atmosphere.

For two. Or for everyone who belongs.

Not every safari wedding has to be a big destination wedding.

Perhaps you want to get married just the two of you. Perhaps your parents and siblings will come along. Perhaps you'd like to have your closest friends there and combine the wedding with a trip to Africa. Or you could celebrate first with a larger group and then retreat for a few days just the two of you.

We are planning the trip accordingly.

We take into account not only the number of your guests, but also their needs. Different arrival times, room categories, private transfers, group activities, and individual extensions can all play a role in the planning.

Because a wedding for ten people is logistically different from a wedding for 40 guests. And a wedding in a remote safari lodge is different from a wedding at a vineyard in Stellenbosch.

Where can you have a safari wedding?

We plan safari weddings primarily in countries where special safari experiences can be combined with suitable accommodations and individual wedding concepts.

botswana-luxury-safari-lodge-single-traveller.jpeg
South Africa

South Africa offers a particularly wide range of options. You can get married directly in a private game reserve, combine your wedding with a trip through Cape Town and the Winelands, or continue your journey to Kruger or a private reserve after the celebration.

For couples who can't decide between wine, cuisine and safari, South Africa is particularly versatile.

Botswana

Botswana is ideal for an intimate wedding amidst extraordinary wilderness. The Okavango Delta, private concessions, and remote safari camps create an atmosphere where a wedding can be truly personalized.

This is less about a classic wedding location and more about the experience as a whole.

Namibia

Namibia has a completely different character. Vast landscapes, desert, mountains, rock formations and remote lodges make the country particularly interesting for couples who want to combine their wedding with a trip to an extraordinary landscape.

One possible route could, for example, connect Windhoek, the Sossusvlei region, Swakopmund and a safari region.

Tanzania

Tanzania offers the opportunity to combine a wedding with a classic safari through the Serengeti, the Ngorongoro region or other areas.

Especially for couples who desire a very special bush setting and perhaps want to spend a few days afterwards on the Indian Ocean, this can be used to create an extraordinary trip.

Kenya

Kenya combines vast safari landscapes with a long tradition of high-quality safari lodges.

A wedding can be combined with a safari in the Masai Mara or other regions, for example. An extension of the trip to the Kenyan coast is also possible afterwards.

Zambia

Zambia is particularly suitable for couples seeking a more authentic safari experience. Smaller camps, walking safaris, and immersive nature experiences can all be part of a honeymoon here.

Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe also offers options for intimate weddings in safari lodges and camps. Combinations with Victoria Falls or safari areas such as Hwange and Mana Pools are particularly appealing.

Rwanda

Rwanda is a special option for couples who want to combine their wedding with an extraordinary wildlife experience.

A safari can be combined with gorilla trekking, for example. However, specific requirements and age limits apply to each activity.

Which destination is best for you depends on much more than just the country. The time of year, number of guests, desired wedding style, safari wishes, budget, and itinerary all play a crucial role.

Can I, as a woman, travel to Africa alone?

On social media, a destination wedding often looks very simple.

A beautiful lodge. An outdoor wedding ceremony. A perfectly set table. A sunset. What you can't see in the picture are the many things that have to work simultaneously.

A safari lodge can be several flight segments away. Bush flights have fixed departure times and sometimes strict baggage limits. Guests arrive from different countries and land at different times. Transfers must be coordinated.

Then comes the wedding.

Flowers need to arrive on time. The cake needs to be refrigerated and transported. Furniture needs to be set up. Hair and makeup take time. The photographer needs to know when and where to be. The ceremony mustn't clash with a game drive. And if the wedding is outdoors, the weather and lighting need to be taken into account.

A safari wedding adds another layer:

You are often located far away from the nearest city.

This means that things that can be organized within a few hours for a wedding in Germany work very differently in a remote safari lodge.

That's precisely why choosing the right lodge is so important. And that's exactly why we don't wait until after the wedding date to plan the safari part of the trip. We consider both together.

InfiniteWild Divider Wave-long-khaki_edi
What happens if something doesn't go according to plan?

Africa doesn't always operate according to European timetables.

Flights can be delayed. The weather can change. Roads can be more difficult to navigate after heavy rain. A transfer can take longer than planned. And sometimes, nature itself decides that a day will be different.

On a normal trip, that can be part of the adventure. For a wedding, we need to plan much more carefully.

Therefore, where sensible, we build in buffer time and alternatives to the trip. We check flight connections, transfer times, and the sequence of individual travel components and coordinate them with the wedding planning.

That doesn't mean we can control Africa.

But we can ensure that your trip is planned in such a way that minor uncertainties don't immediately become a major problem.

Your day deserves to be special. The planning behind it deserves to be professional.

That depends heavily on the destination and the trip.

A private safari can be more expensive per person.

In return you will receive:

  • own vehicle

  • maximum flexibility

  • individual departure times

  • more privacy

  • individual animal observations

A small group trip, on the other hand, can be much more attractive if you want to share the costs.

You share this:

  • vehicle

  • Guide

  • Activities

  • partial transfers

For solo travelers, we therefore recommend always comparing both options.

Sometimes a small group tour makes much more sense.

Sometimes a private safari is surprisingly appealing.

Your wedding doesn't end with the last dance.

Perhaps that's the best part. After the wedding, the journey truly begins. You wake up the next morning and you've not only celebrated your wedding day, but you also have Africa ahead of you.

Perhaps the first game drive awaits. Perhaps breakfast overlooking the savanna. Perhaps a flight to another safari area. Perhaps you'll stay a few more days at the same lodge and simply enjoy your time together.

Or you can say goodbye to your guests and continue your journey alone. Your honeymoon can also become part of the trip.

Safari. Beach. Vineyards. Cape Town. Islands in the Indian Ocean.

We plan the trip so that your wedding doesn't feel like just another appointment between two flights. It's the centerpiece of your African journey.

InfiniteWild Divider Wave-long-khaki_edi
Who is a safari wedding right for?

For you, if you don't want to settle for a standard wedding.

If you'd rather experience something together than just book a nice venue.

If you want your guests not only to be present at your wedding, but also to get to know Africa with you.

If you want to combine nature, good food, special accommodations and extraordinary experiences.

If you can imagine waking up in the bush in the morning and celebrating your wedding in the afternoon.

Or if you want to get married among vineyards and then head off into the wilderness.

And perhaps especially if you're not just looking for a beautiful wedding.

But rather a story you can tell together.

InfiniteWild Divider Wave-long-khaki_edi
How much does a safari wedding cost?

It's not practical to offer a fixed package price for a safari wedding. The costs depend on factors such as the number of guests, destination, time of year, lodge, length of stay, itinerary, and desired services.

Depending on the concept, additional costs include wedding planning and individual services such as photographer, videographer, florist, decoration, catering, cake, hair & makeup, music or other event service providers.

Logistics can also make a significant difference.

A wedding for two in a safari lodge requires completely different planning than a destination wedding with 30 guests, multiple flight connections and a subsequent safari.

That's why we plan every safari wedding individually. After an initial consultation, we can assess which destination, lodge, and wedding concept suit you best and develop a customized offer.

Frequently asked questions about weddings in Africa
  • Yes. Depending on the country, lodge, and general conditions, weddings are possible in or near selected safari lodges. We will check which accommodation and location best suit your preferences and desired number of guests.

  • Safari weddings can be planned in South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe, among other locations. The specific options depend on the lodge, region, season, and number of guests.

  • This is possible at selected lodges. Depending on the accommodation, the ceremony can take place, for example, on a private terrace, under a tree, by the water, or in another special location on the grounds.

  • InfiniteWild takes care of planning the safari, accommodations, transfers, and travel arrangements. If you wish, we can also work with an experienced event planner who coordinates the actual wedding organization.

  • Depending on the wedding, services such as photographer, videographer, wedding cake, flowers, decoration, chairs, catering, music, stationery, hair and make-up, and the organization of the ceremony can be coordinated.

  • Absolutely. A private safari is actually one of the most flexible ways to experience Africa on your own.

  • Yes. A small wedding with family and close friends is a particularly good fit for many safari lodges. The possible number of guests depends on the specific lodge and its event conditions.

  • Since every safari wedding is individually planned, there is no fixed package price. Costs depend on factors such as the destination, lodge, number of guests, length of stay, wedding services, and desired style. Therefore, pricing is available upon request.

  • Yes. After the wedding, the trip can continue directly with a safari or a stay at the beach. A combination of wedding, safari, and beach honeymoon is also possible.

  • The earlier, the better. Especially at small, exclusive lodges, available dates are limited. For weddings with several guests and external vendors, we recommend planning as early as possible.

  • A tailor-made trip allows you to perfectly match national parks, accommodations, and activities to your interests, travel dates, and budget. This creates a balanced itinerary with ample time for immersive nature experiences and special encounters.

Let's plan your wedding in Africa

You don't need to know where you want to get married yet.

You don't need to have a precise idea of what your safari should look like yet.

Perhaps you only have this one thought:

We want to get married in Africa.

Then let's find out what can come of it.

Tell us about yourselves, your ideas, and the people who should be there.

And together we'll plan a journey that extends far beyond your wedding day.
